TOP 5! Hip-Hop Festivals to attend in 2015

1. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival  will take place in Indio, CA over two weekends, April 10-12 and April 17-19 and will include a lineup like Drake, The Weeknd, Action Bronson, Tyler the Creator and FKA Twigs. Past lineups rolled out big-name artists like Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Prince and Jay- Z. This year, Coachella’s bringing in the heat with Drake and The Weeknd; two OVO artists that will hit the same stage bringing fans the sound they wanna hear for two days of the 2-weekend event. 2. The Pitchfork Music Festival 2015 lineup was announced recently and will go down at Chicago’s Union Park on July 17th-19th. The three-day event offers an exciting and diverse lineup. Chance The Rapper, A$AP Ferg, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Vic Mensa,iLoveMakonnen, and Vince Staples will be performing there just to name a few. Daily Passes are on sale now for $65 a night or $150 for a weekend pass.

3. The 21st Annual Essence Music Festival will take place at the normal spot in New Orleans, La for July 2-5th at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. We all know that every year, superstars fill the streets and the many music events and seminars happening all around town on each day of the show. For the initial lineup, Superstar headliners and Grammy-winning artists Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and Common will be performing at this year’s fest as well as Erykah Badu, India.Arie, Floetry and SZA. Tickets go on sale February 25th.

4. Governors’ Ball at Randall’s Island Park in NYC will pop off in a major way with this year’s official headliner, Drake! The singer/rapper will share the stage with newer artists, Lana Del Ray, Rae Sremmurd, Charli XCX, KAYTRANADA and Bishop Nehru.The event goes on June 5-7th. 5. BUKU Music Festival thrives on the art and culture that lives in New Orleans. Already a magical city, there’s not much you need to do to decorate it, but the one festival that helps bring together both art and music is the BUKU Fest! A$AP Rocky and ILoveMakonnen will headline this year’s event along with Boosie Badazz, G-Eazy and Flosstradamus.
